Summary

Theatr Clwyd are seeking an early career director who is excited about the magic of Panto. Our annual rock’n’roll pantomime is a highlight for us and our audiences, but this year is particularly special because it’s the first we’ll be making in our new theatre following an extensive capital redevelopment project.

The role of assistant director is a key member of the creative team, supporting the Director (Daniel Lloyd) in the room, this hand-on experience is full time from day one of rehearsals until the press performance, so you’ll get to experience the whole theatre making process on a production of scale.

Please note this is a freelance, fixed-term position, and is open to people born, raised, or living in Wales.

Duties include:

Working in the rehearsal room and note taking during the rehearsal process
Assisting the stage management team and director with scheduling across the process
Assisting with script editing
Creating and updated actor instrument tracks
Other duties as assigned

Theatr Clwyd’s annual rock’n’roll pantomime is a cornerstone of our season of work. Our annual festive production is seen by over 33,000 people every year. Mother Goose is written by Christian Patterson and features a company of 10 actor-musicians featuring hit songs of the 80’s, 90’s and today. Full creative team and casting to be announced. This is the first pantomime in our newly redeveloped building.
