About the Role
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible Business Support Administrator to provide comprehensive support to Children’s Services dealing with front line social work supporting children and families.
This position will work within one of our Business Support Teams providing support specifically to the Referral and Assessment Team, Family Support and Child Protection and any other support across Children’s Services as required.
The postholder will be required to attend meetings to provide minute taking support, some of which will be urgent within very tight deadlines as the outcomes will be required for Court purposes.
This post will be required to work within statutory processes and to strict timescales to meet the needs of the service within prescribed processes.
Ideally, a suitable candidate may be one that has an understanding of this service or worked within a similar setting. Attention to detail is key to this role as well as being able to prioritise and understand the importance of the needs of the service.
We are looking for flexibility and ability to work within a team environment, which is key to the team being successful and reaching the high standard of support that is required for this role.

Candidate Profile
In order to succeed in this post, you will need a good standard of education and must have excellent ICT skills and knowledge, as well as a flair for assisting with promotion of services aiming towards a more digitalised environment.
Previous experience of working in a fast-paced administrative environment and experience of minute taking would be an advantage as this is a key task for this role. You will also need to be able to work on your own initiative, work as part of a team and be committed to ensuring high levels of customer service.
This post is considered by the authority to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.
The council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the JD/Person Specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
