Job Objectives and Responsibilities

Senior Manager within the HMP Millsike Reducing Reoffending Function ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, company policies and procedures and HMPPS standards, policies and procedures where applicable. As a Departmental Senior Manager, you will be responsible for oversight and delivery of services across a multi- disciplinary team of staff including the Offender Management Unit, case management administration, Keyworker activities, Resettlement requirements and Interventions. This role will also undertake the role of Duty Director and Chair Adjudications so a commitment to completing necessary training if essential. You will be expected to work alongside peers, specifically from Psychology, Probation, People Plus and The Forward Trust to ensure prisoners can access needed support and resource to meet sentence planning and resettlement objectives.

You will lead a vibrant and proactive department to ensure that prisoner risk and need is met. This includes engaging with and providing oversight for a number of external service providers to ensure an excellent quality of service delivery. Support, supervise, motivate and monitor staff to ensure an effective service is delivered across the Prison. As well as lead on the delivery of a safe, secure and decent environment creating a ‘Rehabilitative & Restorative Culture' for staff and prisoners.



Person Specification

We are looking for motivated, caring individuals who want to be part of our team that will play their part in the Government's drive to cut reoffending through effective rehabilitation; enabling offenders to turn their lives around for good. We will provide a safe, secure environment at HMP Millsike, thus providing reassurance to the public and victims of crime that perpetrators are serving a secure sentence for their crimes.



Essential Experience

-Previous relevant experience in a custodial or secure environment is required for this role

-Relevant experience within an Offender Management / case management environment.

-Managerial experience of leading a team of at least 5 -15 staff

-Basic-Intermediate IT Skills: e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook + some experience of updating central data systems



Preferred Experience

-Operational experience in prisons

-Technical knowledge of relevant prison legislation, policies, standards, inspection and audit processes; and knowledge of the wider criminal justice system.

-Silver command training

-Successful completions of incident and hostage management training, and adjudication training.



Preferred Qualifications

-Qualifications or relevant experience equivalent to Level 3 or above:  e.g.  A level, Advanced Apprenticeship, AS Levels, International Baccalaureate diploma, Level 3 Awards, Certificates and Diplomas. Level 3 NVQ accreditations.
