Summary


The Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service(CAMHS)East Specialist Community Team,based at Upton Hospital, Fir Tree Houseand coverand supportotherteambasedin Wokingham hospital. This positionis afull-timerole (37.5hours). Berkshire CAMHS is an innovative and dynamic service, providing specialist community mental health care to a child population of approximately 300,000 across the county. Care is provided through several different specialist teams and pathways.


We are looking to appoint a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist, and the post is within a well-integrated multi-disciplinary Specialist Community Team covering East Berkshire locality(Slough, RBWM and Bracknell).


Teaching,trainingand supervision

1. In common with all clinical psychologists, to receive regular clinical supervision in accordance withprofessional practice guidelines.


2. To gain wider experience of professional psychology within the NHS over and above that provided within the principal service area where the post holder is employed.


3. To develop skills and competencies thatassistin the delivery of current duties


4. To contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological care.


The Assistant Psychologist is expected to join thetraining/audit/clinical governance/ research and peer supervision sessions every month.

Management,recruitmentand service development

1. Toassistin the design and implementation of service development projects within the service asrequired.


2. To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed.


IT responsibilities (other than those used for research) should be added as anadditionalKey.
