Summary


The Programme Management Office (PMO) assures delivery of key strategic programmes across the Trust, through the application of SLaM's robust project management methodology.

The PMO manages the pipeline of opportunities for improvement, develops standardised planning documentation, validates plans for approval against best practice and tracks implementation. The PMO provides:

Project governance framework to have a structured approach to govern the projects. In order to ensure that:
• The projects are prioritized and aligned to strategic ambitions
• The projects are staying within the planned time and budget
• Resources are utilized in the most efficient manner
• There are ongoing risk assessment and mitigation across all projects

Dedicated project management support for selected schemes and initiatives that require specialist skills to deliver the required change and/or outcomes.

Stakeholder engagement and well-defined roles, responsibilities, and decision-making capacities for key stakeholders.

In addition to the above, providing PMO methodology training and consultancy/advisory services to project teams in Operational boroughs is also required.

The post holder will be pivotal in the delivery of the Trust wide Care Transformation Programme through effective planning, coordination and execution, whilst ensuring that robust monitoring and evaluation processes are in place, throughout the project lifecycle. They will work within an embedded assurance structure managed by the Programme Management Office and will be coached as required by the Programme Managers who will manage larger portfolios.

Within the Trust’s Strategic Care Transformation Programmes there are a number of work streams that require project management expertise to ensure implementation is both successful and sustained. The work will be critical to embed the Trust's strategic ambitions.

This role will require the candidate to set up and deliver elements of the programme in a short timeframe. It will be suited to someone who can confidently liaise with and influence very senior stakeholders, is used to working at pace, and is technically proficient in delivering all facets of the programme lifecycle. Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2). We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. Please note that due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the PMO team are currently working from home. There will be an expectation, to come into the PMO work base (Maudsley Hospital), if required at a later stage.

This interview process will include a virtual group assessment centre, a virtual panel interview and a virtual presentation.

The Programme Manager in collaboration with the Senior Responsible Officer, Clinical Lead , Nursing Lead and Psychology Lead will drive forward the work streams to transform services for staff and patients across the Trust.

The post holder will demonstrate a methodical and structured approach along with extensive project management skills and the ability to manage all aspects of the full project lifecycle:
• Identifying and managing programme dependencies.
• Identification and management of project risks and issues.
• Ability to share project management knowledge and experience to project/scheme leads across the organisation.
• Provide timely programme progress updates on status of projects as required by the assurance system.
• Attend regular work stream meetings to provide progress updates and highlight key risks/issues.
• Work with project teams to ensure project documentation is completed to appropriate standards
