The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust includes major teaching hospitals. A wide range of equipment is used for medical work - diagnosis, monitoring, therapy and technical work - throughout its wards, theatres, and clinical departments. The Clinical Engineering Department provides technical support for equipment throughout the Trust. It is committed to deliver high quality medical device maintenance repair and management services, and to support research and new developments within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).
We are working with Avensys, Dudley College to offer the Level 3 Healthcare Engineering Specialist Technician Apprenticeship as part of this role. This is a permanent position, subject to completion of the apprenticeship. This post is dependent on active engagement and completion of the apprenticeship within the allocated timeframe.
This is an apprenticeship post and by the end of the apprenticeship the candidate will be expected to be Meeting the following role:
By the end of the apprenticeship candidates will
1) take responsibility for tasks within the broad range of work (both routine and specialised) of the Medical Device Workshop.
2) work at all times to a high standard of engineering competence

· Online delivery. One day per week study time
