Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join RDaSH as a Community Phlebotomist as part of a newly created team. The phlebotomist will work closely with the community services and visit housebound patients in their own home or care home to collect venous blood samples and or samples and take basic observations when required. under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse.
The Phlebotomist will work in a variety of settings including patients in their own homesand residential care homes.
Phlebotomy and community experience desirable but not essential.
The Phlebotomy service will operate7 day working and hours between 07.30-6pm.
The phlebotomist will work in a variety of settings visiting patients in their own homes and residential homes to obtain venous samples.
The Phlebotomist will be expected to become proficient and competent in their areaof practice by undertaking competency assessments specific to the area of clinicalpractice.
The Phlebotomist will promote optimum independence and individualised patientcentred care to a delegated caseload.
The Phlebotomist will undertake where required basic clinical observations such asblood pressure, temperature, heart rate, oxygen saturation and weight.
