MUSIC THERAPIST
Salary for one day: £4,783- £5,688 (newly qualified) / £7,265 - £9146 (independent practitioner) Additional recruitment bonus £1,000* FTE Salary: £29,475 - £35,049 (newly qualified) / £44,768-£56,361 (independent practitioner) Hours: 8:30am – 4pm (30 mins unpaid lunchbreak) 1-2 days a week (open to discussion) We are seeking a specialist Music Therapist to join a multidisciplinary therapy team which includes Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and a Dance Therapist. You will be compassionate and patient with a strong interest in mental health and learning disabilities in children and young people, be qualified (hold an MA in Music Therapy, qualification recognised and approved by BAMT), must be HCPC registered and ideally a member of BAMT. St Joseph’s Specialist Trust is a Special School, College, Children’s Home and Adult Supported Living Houses with around 250 staff contributing to having a positive influence on the lives, communication and wellbeing of children and young people with special needs. Our 70 students are aged 5 to 19 and have needs that include autism, language and communication disorders, ADHD, severe and complex learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. This is role is term time (including CPD days) only, one to two days per week, 7hours per day. Open to negotiation on hours per day; and day or days to be worked can be discussed at interview and is flexible. You will be supporting students to access Music Therapy individually and in small groups and will be responsible for the continued development and evaluation of Music Therapy at St Joseph’s. You will work closely with other colleagues within the therapy team and report directly to the Director of Therapies. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training as part of your induction before employment.
