Summary


The post holder is responsible for preparing, facilitating, and completing associated administration for the ILD MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) meetings in the Respiratory department for the Medicine Division at North Bristol Trust. They will ensure the accurate preparation of each MDT meeting, maximising on capacity and delivering an efficient an accurate MDT meeting each week . The post holder delivers a high quality administration service ensuring that patients’ pathways reflect the requests of the clinical team as well as supporting the broader admin team with general tasks.
• Liaise with clinicians to receive MDT referrals and create a schedule of patients for discussion
• Access clinical systems to collate relevant test results and other clinical information required to prepare the patient file for discussion
• Invite members to and otherwise organise the MDT meeting each week
• Facilitate the MDT discussion, adding notes and plans to patients files as per the clinical observations of the meeting
• Process the outcomes of the discussions to ensure patients require subsequent follow up care
• Ensure adherence to NHS guidelines of data entry onto relevant registries
• Support with cross covering of MDTs within other sub-specialties of the department
• Optimize utilization of MDT discussions and work with clinicians to ensure no time/gaps are wasted
• Work using own initiative
• Support wider admin team with general tasks where required such as dealing with patient queries, booking, phones/e-mail support and other general tasks
• Identify and escalate any issues with current MDT process
• Work with management to improve the overall running of the MDT where appropriate
• Provide cross cover for other MDTs in the service
