About the role: Protected Services Teacher
Activate Learning are looking for public service or outdoor education/activity leader professionals to teach and join our public services teaching team at Banbury and Bicester College.
Our students are eager to learn and we want to appoint someone who can provide them with a high level of knowledge and skills, such as teamwork, leadership and communication, that they can utilise in their careers within the armed forces, police, fire and rescue service, custodial services and adventure training sectors.
You will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate teachers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons up to level 3.
Our Lifestyles faculty has an excellent record of delivering vocational public/protective services courses with employability embedded at their heart. This is achieved through excellent relationships with industry and the employment of experts with extensive professional experience within the teaching team.
This is a permanent, full time role based at our campus in Banbury.
What do you need to be a successful Public Services Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.
If you could enhance our students' understanding in areas such as: teamwork, leadership and communication; performance, behaviour, and discipline; physical preparation, health and wellbeing; or outdoor activity/expedition skills, then we would like to hear from you!
Whilst previous teaching experience or qualifications would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the knowledge & experience to teach the aspects required in public/uniformed services and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.
About you:

You will have an appropriate professional qualification at level 3 or above
Experience in armed forces, police, fire brigade, ambulance service, prison officer or outdoor education/activities leader is essential
It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential

You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
