ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a well-motivated PHP and WordPress Developer to build and maintain high-quality websites, web applications and web tools. The successful candidate will have a fundamental background in web development, with a keen focus on WordPress development. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential, as well as a good understanding of device and browser constraints. The role will allow hybrid working and flexible hours, candidates can work mainly remotely but will be expected to work at least one day a week in our newly furnished Central London office.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Precisely building optimised websites from Figma prototypes

Quickly turning around landing pages and data capture pages

Using best-practice on-page SEO techniques to optimise websites

Lending development expertise to the design team to help produce wireframes and concepts

Maintaining and updating existing websites

Training clients and other staff within the group on how to maintain and update WordPress websites

REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 2+ years working with PHP

A strong portfolio of WordPress websites or Github repository examples

The ability to build websites from prototypes designed in Figma

An understanding of technical and best-practice SEO techniques

An understanding of web page and asset optimisation

The ability to work independently and to deadlines

Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy

Experience writing custom WordPress themes and plugins

Understanding of Gutenberg blocks

Experience managing code versioning with Github

The ability to debug front-end issues and Javascript exceptions using Chrome developer tools

The ability to adhere to in-house code standards

DESIRABLE
Experience working on live events or ticketing is highly desirable

An understanding of management tools and shell/terminal

Working knowledge of Google Tag Manager

Expertise in ecommerce for WordPress (eg: WooCommerce)

Experience developing Shopify themes

Exposure to popular ecommerce solutions (WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, etc).

Experience working with Bedrock Roots WordPress framework

Exposure to Node.js, React, or other Javascript frameworks

The ability to set up and configure Google Analytics, GA4 and Search Console properties to monitor the performance of live websites

Background of using full-stack architectures to build websites, dashboards or web applications

Experience working with Google APIs
