Are you a newly qualified electrician or a Level 2 Electrician eager to launch your career in Building Services? Do you have a passion for electrical systems and a desire to learn and grow within a supportive environment? My client are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Electrician to join their team on a static commercial site in London. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in commercial building maintenance, with a particular focus on lighting systems, and clear pathways for career progression.

The Role:

As a Junior Electrician, you will work closely with senior engineers, primarily assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial lighting systems. This role is designed to develop your skills across a broader range of building services, offering excellent on-the-job training and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Lighting Focus: Assist with the installation of new lighting fixtures, fittings, and control systems within a commercial environment.
  • Lighting Maintenance: Support routine maintenance checks, fault finding, and repair of existing lighting systems, including emergency lighting.
  • Lamp & Ballast Replacement: Carry out regular replacement of lamps, ballasts, and other lighting components.
  • Electrical Assistance: Work alongside qualified electricians on various electrical tasks, including power distribution, circuit testing, and general electrical upkeep.
  • Fault Finding Support: Assist in diagnosing basic electrical faults under supervision, learning effective troubleshooting techniques.
  • PPM Assistance: Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across the site's electrical infrastructure.
  • Cable Management: Assist with cable pulling, containment, and tidying of electrical installations.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company procedures, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
  • Documentation: Assist with basic record-keeping for maintenance tasks and material usage.
  • General Support: Provide general assistance to the wider maintenance team as required, gaining exposure to other building services disciplines.

About You:

  • Newly Qualified/Entry Level: A newly qualified Electrician or holding a City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification.
  • Eager to Learn: A strong desire to develop a career in Building Services and expand your electrical and multi-skilled knowledge.
  • Basic Electrical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of electrical principles and safety.
  • Reliable & Punctual: A strong work ethic, commitment to punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking instructions and collaborating with colleagues.
