Job Description
To support the Catering Department to provide nutrition and dietetic expertise within the catering department, providing technical support such as menu development and analysis, implementing/updating the catering provision in line with Setting the table for ELC and Food and drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations for schools.
Assist the Catering Manager in all matters related to catering strategy, policy and procedures and compliance with legislation.
Requirements
Ensure that the Catering Service’s roles and responsibilities in relation to all relevant legislation are fully discharged
Ensure all menus are complaint with legislation requirements, assist in menu development with colleagues
Initiate and co-ordinate information on special diets related to the delivery of catering provision to pupils
Promote and operate a customer focused approach to the development and delivery of Catering Services
Assist in forming and maintaining catering strategy, policy and procedures.
To ensure that Health & Safety standards are met and maintained.
The Individual
Ability to demonstrate experience within a diet / nutrition role
Experience of dealing with the public
Degree (or equivalent) in Nutrition, Dietetics or related subject
Effectively translate nutrition science into practical food advice
Demonstrable organisational & time management skills
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to prioritise workload.
Ability to adapt.
Good problem solver
Ability to project manage.
Self-confident and self-motivated
Effective verbal/non-verbal communication skills.

Operational Support Officer (Food & Nutrition) Maternity Cover 6 Months with possible extension up to 1 year
Base – Ashgrove Depot Hybrid Working
Salary: £35909.25 - £39113.75
Hours: 36.25 per week
