Summary


The Learning and Development Team are delighted to offer this opportunity for a registered clinician to share the Preceptorship Lead role with our current Lead. This is a permanent role building on the work that has already been done to create an excellent preceptorship programme. If you are passionate about working with newly qualified staff to enable them to transition from student to autonomous practitioner. There are additional responsibilities within the role for the wider Learning and Development team so that it is a good opportunity to development your skills in training management.

The post holder will work with multiple stakeholders within the organisation, build support networks and relationships with peers across the Herts & West Essex AHP faculty, and link closely with the regional and national programmes of work in this area; it is a great opportunity to grow your network and exposure to develop your career.

The post holder would ideally have senior clinical experience as well as experience in developing others and managing the delivery of a project.

You will work closely with HCT's AHP and Nursing Workforce Strategy Leads and Head of Learning & Development on delivery, receiving support and guidance as required.
• This post focuses on the implementation of preceptorship for newly qualified practitioners and is central to the delivery of clinical based support, education and training. The post holder will provide effective leadership and management to ensure the further development of high quality preceptorship programme.
• The post holder will also work with others on the Adult Clinical Training programme to ensure that this is fit for purpose
• The post holder will act as a role model, promoting quality evidence based practice, developing work streams, facilitating engagement and ensuring clinical teams are fully briefed on activities that require input and action.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The post holder acts as support to the Head of Learning and Development to deliver the education components of the Trust’s People Plan. The post holder leads projects, supports colleagues and teams at all levels in relation to specific work areas for example: preceptorship, clinical programmes, apprenticeships or pre-registration support

- Design and delivery of training programmes

o Liaison with managers and staff to identify training needs

o Develop training programmes sourcing internal or external trainers

o Delivering training with own areas of expertise

o Provide support for mentors, preceptors and clinical educators to support staff and students

o Overseeing the learning and development administration team in the organisation of the programmes

- Sharing excellent practice within areas of work

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Support the Head of Learning and Development in providing expert advice to the Executive and relevant committees of excellent learning and education practice and how this can be embedded and developed further within the Trust



- Act as an expert resource for Trust staff regarding areas of responsibility, including academic research, useful resources and local and national policy documents which may impact on knowledge and skills within the Trust. Keep abreast of good practice on behalf of the Trust.

- Identify requirements, design, commission or deliver evidence-based Education programmes and interventions for staff at all levels of the organisation

- Evaluate delivered programmes to identify the impact on individual activity, service delivery and where appropriate, Trust strategic objectives, and demonstrate return on investment

- Work with services to create and facilitate bespoke interventions to support team development

- Represent the trust in areas of responsibility within the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System and the East of England, to include the development of strategy, and the development and implementation of projects as agreed with the Head of Learning and Development

- Support individual staff members in personal and career development including acting as a career coach and supervision facilitator.

- Contribute to the wider work of the Learning and Development Team, working with colleagues to provide maximum benefit to HCT staff
