Shift Pattern:

Week 1 - Thursday 5.30pm - 9.30pm, Friday 7pm - 9.30pm and Saturday 11am - 7.15pm

Week 2 - Friday 7pm - 9.30pm, Saturday 11am - 7.15pm and Sunday 11am - 5.30pm

Duration: Permanent

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Recreation Assistants (Ice) to work at East Kilbride Ice Rink.

You will provide the conditions in which customers can have a safe and enjoyable visit to the Ice Rink. You will work closely with the agencies in working with young people with various needs to enjoy their visit while displaying appropriate social behaviours.

It is essential to be able to ice skate to competent standard.

Responsibilities

Carryout basic maintenance and fitting of skates and laces.

Restock the vending machines at the end of each session

Clean throughout the facility in preparedness for customer’s arrival

Use the grinding wheel to keep hire and customer skates sharp whilst maintaining the abrasive wheel, including changing the wheel.

Drive the “Olympia” machine for ice preparation each session

Opening building, carryout checks on plant and equipment and establish and carryout work priorities dealing with customer enquiries.
