Role and Responsibilities:

As a SENCo, you will play a crucial role in supporting the school's commitment to inclusion and student development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the provision for students with special educational needs.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to support students with SEN, ensuring they receive tailored interventions and support.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for SEN students.
  • Overseeing the creation and maintenance of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Providing training and guidance to staff on SEN best practices.
  • Liaising with parents and carers to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's education.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEN provision and making improvements where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • SENCo qualification (essential).
  • Teaching qualification (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS check (essential).
  • Experience working within a secondary school (advantageous).
