Role and Responsibilities:
As a SENCo, you will play a crucial role in supporting the school's commitment to inclusion and student development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the provision for students with special educational needs.
- Developing and implementing strategies to support students with SEN, ensuring they receive tailored interventions and support.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for SEN students.
- Overseeing the creation and maintenance of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Providing training and guidance to staff on SEN best practices.
- Liaising with parents and carers to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's education.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEN provision and making improvements where necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- SENCo qualification (essential).
- Teaching qualification (essential).
- Enhanced DBS check (essential).
- Experience working within a secondary school (advantageous).
