This post is responsible for building management information (MI) reports and dashboards alongside analysis of data from DVSA’s Theory Test MI databases using Power BI. The post holder delivers information with insight that supports the planning and decision-making process and provides data guidance to the Theory Test Service team.

The post holder collaborates with others to develop and run new regular reporting and ad-hoc reports, extracts information in accordance with user specifications and provides statistical information for publication or in response to freedom of information or subject access requests.

We will enrol you onto the L4 Data Analyst apprenticeship as soon as you successfully join us and you will be fully supported to meet all of the requirements.

You will:

  • Ensure reports are accurate, timely and available for the Theory Test Service and wider business.
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis.
  • Engage with stakeholders to make sure reporting and analysis continues to meet their needs.

Additional Information

This role can be based in Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oldham or Birmingham your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.

Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement, for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 30 hours per week.

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:

  • Be aged 16 or over.
  • Have a Level 3 qualification (A level/BTEC or equivalent qualification) or equivalent work experience (Comparable work in a relatable role including analysis activity).
  • Have 5 GCSE's grade A-C/ Level 4-7 including Maths and English.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Not be in full-time education.
  • Not be in receipt of funding for other learning programmes at the point of enrolment for this apprenticeship.
  • Have valid and eligible residency status and be resident in the UK for 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship. Full eligibility details can be found here. If you are not sure if you meet the residency requirements then please contact us before applying.

If you currently hold or are working towards a similar qualification of the same level or higher, then you will not be eligible to apply for this vacancy. In order to be eligible for our apprenticeship vacancy, any qualifications previously held or currently being worked towards must differ in content so that this apprenticeship provides substantial new skills.
