Thelwall Community Junior school is in a suburb of Warrington, providing strong education in a nurturing environment that focuses on the ‘whole child’. The Governing Body is looking to appoint an inspirational, ambitious, and forward-thinking individual who has the ability and desire to take our school forward on the next phase of its journey. The Headteacher role requires flexibility with good organisation and management skills. The candidate must be self-motivated, and be able to address the needs of our school.

We are seeking a Headteacher who can lead and inspire and shape the strategic direction of the school. You will be able to work collaboratively with our governance team and other important stakeholder groups including parents and our local feeder school. Our Governing Body will support you and are a regular presence in the school. You will have developed strong leadership skills in a primary setting and be ready to enjoy and embrace the successes and challenges of headship, knowing you will have a great team of people there alongside you.

The successful candidate will:

• have solid experience in a senior leading role within a relevant setting
• be able to articulate their understanding of up to date, evidence-based practice across the Primary key stages and how they will underpin our school
• have a track record of improving academic outcomes at Key Stage 2
• know how to employ a range of evidence, including performance data, to support, monitor, evaluate and improve aspects of school life
• have a good understanding of children’s mental health and how positive experiences can influence children’s wellbeing using a holistic approach
• be able to demonstrate their ability to develop and support staff
• have a successful record of multi-agency working
• be an excellent and dynamic communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders
• be able to explain the principles of strategic financial planning, budgetary management and principles of best value.

Salary Points: L10 – L17 (£58,959 - £69,970)
