Broadoak School is seeking to appoint a Cover Teacher to join a very talented and dedicated team of staff, who are determined to lead and supervise lessons to classes in different subject areas during any absence of teachers. The post holder will deliver lessons as provided by the absent teacher and the primary focus of the role will be to ensure effective progress of pupil learning is maintained during the absence, whilst establishing an atmosphere in the classroom conducive to effective learning. Where work is not set the Cover Teacher will be expected to set suitable work within the context on the subject they are covering. When lesson cover is not required, the post holder will assist with other teaching related activities as directed by the Headteacher/Deputy Headteacher. There may also be lessons allocated to the cover teacher to teach over a longer period of time, which will be agreed with the postholder.
