Summary
The Data Assurance and Quality Manager role offers a challenging opportunity for a candidate with strong Data Quality skills and experience gained on implementing a data governance framework, driving data quality improvement programmes, including some or all of data mapping / data cleansing / data migration, data profiling and master data management projects. Data skills will be complemented by an ability to communicate persuasively and effectively at all levels both within and outside the organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Governance and Design, the Data Assurance and Quality Manager will review the business processes and workflows needed for strengthening data management and play a major role in identifying, cleaning, and assuring the data.
You will also pro-actively identify ways to reduce data quality issues at source by proposing improvements to systems and business processes to reduce the risk of erroneous data capture and processing errors, or to strengthen procedures and/or re-educate users as appropriate.
We are currently engaged in a major long-term project to replace and improve our major business systems as we move to a future operating model for the business. The Data Quality Team under the Data Assurance and Quality Manager play a pivotal role in ensuring data readiness for migration and in preparing the business for the changes.
As part of this programme, L&Q are updating our corporate Data Governance Framework to better manage the way we collect, use, and share data throughout the organisation, with emphasis on improving the completeness and accuracy of the information we use and ensure one version of the truth.
A Master Data Management application is a key enabler for migration to the new systems, and the Data Assurance will play a key role in embedding use of this and other data quality tools in ongoing data governance.
Responsibilities also include oversight of coordination of the collation, verification, approval and timely submission of regulatory returns and the successful candidate should have relevant experience gained in a regulated sector, preferably in housing or local government.
This is a varied and challenging role that demands stakeholder management, planning, driving issues to resolution and people skills. You will work as a specialist, liaise with data processors, data owners, data stewards, users and technology teams and collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams and informal focus groups to improve and quantify the reliability of the data needed to keep L&Q at the forefront. You must have experience using data tools for data quality and data migration management as well as have been involved in data migration and data improvement programmes.
Your suitability will be evidenced by a track record of contribution to successful implementation of data governance, data quality improvement programmes, master data management and/or a major data migration project.
The successful candidate is likely to have formal professional and academic qualifications or affiliations related to data quality and data management.
If you are driven to make a difference, have the insight to understand complex systems and processes and the imagination to find solutions then we look forward to receiving your application!
If you are interested in this role and have the experience required, then why not apply today!
*We are a multi-site organisation, so some roles may require occasional travel between offices, but expenses will be covered.
