About the vacancy:

The School of Social Sciences at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol is seeking to appoint a Counselling or Clinical Psychologist, with a commitment to innovative and high-quality teaching. The post is a 0.5FTE lectureship, contributing to our Psychology provision and in particular our HCPC approved and BPS accredited Doctorate in Counselling Psychology programme. The successful applicant will be a HCPC registered (or heading towards registration) Counselling or Clinical Psychologist and we would be pleased to hear from practitioners who are looking for a part-time academic post while remaining in clinical practice.

The post is based within the interdisciplinary School of Social Sciences within the College of Health, Science and Society and contribute to the Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG). Our staff are professional practitioners and researchers at the forefront of their specialist areas. Our students benefit from their cutting-edge insight, practical experience, and innovative approaches to teaching. We collaborate closely with employers and stakeholders to ensure that our curricula remain current, topical, and relevant to societal needs.

We offer a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and other professional bodies. We are focussed on the delivery of high-quality teaching with a strong emphasis on the application of academic understanding to real-world contexts with impact.

About you:

We are seeking individual to join our successful and highly committed team in the delivery of our postgraduate Counselling Psychology doctoral programme. This is an exciting opportunity for either a Counselling or Clinical Psychologist with experience in the field of mental health. You will ensure the development and implementation of effective learning and a valuable experience for students on our doctoral programme and support delivery of teaching and skills development to undergraduate students.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus.
