About you
We are seeking a qualified and experienced professional to manage our Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Sections. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of education and student satisfaction. This role requires a qualified Hairdresser with a minimum Level 3 qualification in women's hairdressing and a proven track record in teaching and curriculum management.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Sections, ensuring high standards of education and student satisfaction.
- Deliver up to 16 hours of teaching in women's hairdressing at Level 3 during term time.
- Manage full-time and part-time study programmes in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy.
- Ensure all programmes meet required educational standards and compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to students, facilitating their academic and professional growth.
- Coordinate Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeship Standards in Hairdressing, incorporating Functional Skills and Tutorial sessions.
Key criteria
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing.
- A Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g., DET or equivalent).
- Assessor award (A1 or equivalent); Verified award or willing to obtain (V1 or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience in Hairdressing and 5 years' industry experience.
- Experience in curriculum management and coordination.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, curriculum, and funding issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good IT skills and experience in using IT within the curriculum.
