Summary

Join our Finance team in this new role as a Financial Compliance Manager. Operating across the group, our successful candidate will be responsible for liaising and delivering the external audit for the group, ensuring all requirements of the audit is delivered and the statutory accounts are prepared in line with regulatory requirements. You’ll also be responsible for tax compliance for the group including VAT and Corporate taxes, commissioner and other external compliance returns and financial risk management for the group.

Our ideal candidate will be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or qualified by experience. Previous experience of ESF Funding would be advantageous but not imperative.

Location: Remote working
Hours: 37 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities
- Dealing with external auditors as the main day to day point of contact, to include planning and delivery of the audit requirements in line with agreed deadlines.
- Organising, delegating, collating, and responding to auditor queries.
- Have an understanding of, and ensure the correct application of, all appropriate financial reporting standards.
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts for the group where they are prepared in house, oversee, and verify content where they are prepared by the external auditors.
- Consolidated working papers including business acquisitions, disposals, goodwill.
- Preparation and upkeep of group accounting policy documentation.
- Overseeing and controlling the collation and submission of Commissioner and other third-party returns and where required Ensure Open Book Accounting Returns to Commissioners are submitted on time.
- Ensuring the group financial risks register is reviewed and updated regularly.
- Have an understanding of UK corporation tax rules, have experience dealing with corporation tax queries from external Tax Accountants.
- Have a sound understanding of UK and Ireland VAT Regulations with first-hand experience preparing and submitting VAT Returns.

Skills & Experience

Essential
- Minimum ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified or qualified by experience
- Experience of working with both finance and non-finance colleagues, both internally and externally
- Advanced IT skills, particularly Excel
- Experience of line management
- Strong financial accounting skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.

Desirable
- Previous experience of ESF Funding
