They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Section Engineer to join their team and work on a significant geotechnical and drainage scheme in Bristol.

Job Description: As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a section of the large geotechnical and drainage project. You will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, while adhering to project specifications and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of a section of the geotechnical and drainage scheme.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, design drawings, and relevant standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor and report on progress, identifying and addressing any issues or delays promptly.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, and method statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the site team.
  • Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Section Engineer in the construction or civil engineering sector, preferably with experience in geotechnical and drainage projects.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical and drainage engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent technical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
  • Full UK driving licence and able to travel to Bristol on a daily basis.
