Summary


The Reproductive Health and Neonatal Research Team is a multi-disciplinary clinical research delivery team that provides women and their families with opportunities to participate in a broad range of research studies across a variety of specialty areas. The team predominantly works across the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Centre for Life sites working within maternity care, reproductive medicine, and gynecological services with opportunities to work increasing across both the acute and community settings.

We are a large, team who support the delivery of a broad portfolio of research studies ranging from early phase experimental trials, clinical trials of investigational medicinal products and observational studies. We work in close collaboration with local, regional, and national colleagues, partnership organisations and networks to increase research opportunities and impact in line with our Trust ‘NMAHP Strategy 2022 – 2027’ and ‘Our Clinical Research Strategy 2021 – 2026’.

A rare opportunity has arisen to apply for a registered nurse or midwife to join the team. Applications are welcomed from dynamic professionals with excellent communication skills and a passion for success. We are seeking a candidate with substantial experience of working within relevant clinical specialty areas and/or the clinical research delivery landscape.

This post is for 37.5 hours for an initial fixed term period of 2 years from the date of appointment with opportunities available for part-time, job share and flexible working to be considered on an individual basis.

This post is suitable for an individual who has substantial post registration experience in clinical specialty area and/or clinical research delivery. Experience of working within the specialty area of women’s health and gynaecology would be desirable but not essential as full training will be provided to fulfil the necessary requirements of the role. There is a requirement in the role to provide leadership and management to junior members of the multi-disciplinary team with responsibility to ensure thesuccessful delivery of multiple research studies of varying complexity and at various timepoints.

Research Midwife - Job Purpose

• To participate in the creation and maintenance of a high-quality clinical research environment.

• To initiate and manage nursing activities related to academic studies and clinical trials, from initiation to termination, according to ICH good clinical practice guidelines.

• Supervise junior members of the team.
