Clapham Cars, one of Bedfordshire’s largest Private Hire & minibus hire firm have an exciting opportunity for a full-time operator to join our Call Centre Team at our Bedford site.

As an operator, you will be the focal point of the call centre and must operate our computerised despatch system, provide customer support, liaise with drivers, support our school transport team to ensure we deliver an efficient service.

About the role
You will be making bookings, providing quotes, dealing with customer enquires via our computerised system and will be the first impression of our firm to our large and varied customer base, you will also provide support to over a 100 drivers, ensuring a high level of customer service.

The call centre takes bookings for an extensive range of vehicles ranging from cars to minibuses and coaches. The call centre deals with enquiries from local residents as well as corporate and business customers.

After undergoing extensive training, you will be responsible for efficiently despatching the bookings and ensuring they run on time. Customer service is the number one priority, and you will work with your team to deliver this. This is a very demanding role and requires dedication, our operators are a small group and all work tightly together to support each other.

About you:
This role will be Monday to Friday, with overtime options.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, you must be a confident and professional communicator who feels at ease liaising with individuals at all levels. You must be keen willing to go the extra mile to ensure customers’ expectations are surpassed every time. Basic IT skills are also needed so that you can navigate the computerised despatch/booking system and communicate via email. What's more, you must be able to think on your feet, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and acute common sense. You need the ability to multi-task under pressure whilst remaining calm.
You must live reasonably locally to Bedford.
