Summary

We are currently recruiting for: A Recruitment and Assessment Adoption Social Worker – Nugent Adoption
Hours of work: 18.5 hours
Location: Adoption Service Hub , St Helens, with some remote/agile working.
About The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assessing Social Worker to join Nugent’s small and friendly Adoption team. This is a varied and interesting role; including the recruitment, assessment and support of prospective and current adoptive families. Prospective Adopters Report (PAR) and other report writing, family finding duties, attendance at adoption related events across the UK including approval and matching Panels, attendance at Court where required and Preparation Group work with prospective adopters.
The post holder may also provide an access to records and intermediary service to adoptees and birth families if and when required. (Training and support will be provided for this where necessary).
The post holder may be required to contribute to post approval training events for adopters and will undertake commissioned pieces of work such as Non-agency adoption assessments (Step Parent Adoptions) and the production of Life Story Work.
The Successful Applicant:
The role would suit a social worker with previous adoption experience or an experienced children’s or fostering social worker. We may consider a more recently qualified social worker with other relevant previous experience.
