We are currently looking for qualified and experienced AMHP’s to join our Dedicated AMHP Team. We would like to appoint someone on either full time or part-time basis. Here at Cheshire West, we have just awarded our AMHPS with an AMHP supplement of £3000 per year as an interim arrangement until March 2025 which is paid on top of their salary on a pro-rata basis.
The team is very experienced, welcoming and supportive. You will have daily direct contact with your manager, and regular supervision. The team covers all Mental Health Act assessments, Social Supervision, CTO meetings, Guardianship Orders and Mental Health Tribunals. The work is often very fast paced and challenging but I believe the team is balancing the tasks and responsibilities in a fair and efficient manner. In order to cover the borough efficiently, You will be a hybrid worker, working across the borough from home and have access to office space in Chester, Ellesmere Port and Winsford.
There are two positions available:
1 x Full time (37 hours) available from 5/8/2024
2 x Part time (18.5 hours) available from 1/10/2024
Condensed hours possible. We primarily work from home, but there are several office bases available as well.
We do not case manage in the Dedicated AMHP Team but there is an expectation for the successful candidates to train as a social supervisors and take on this role.

You will have:
Professional Social Work/OT/Mental Health Nurse/Psychologist qualification
AMHP qualification (postgraduate certificate on master’s level)
Experience of managing high risk, complex cases and safeguarding Adults.
Experience of working in a mental health team understanding the legislation that underpins the role.
Be required to undertake an enhanced DBS plus Adults Barred List (Essential)
Understanding of services essential to meeting the needs of people with Mental Health needs.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, carers and families.
Ability to cope positively with change and an ability to promote positive changes to make a difference.
Awareness of importance of multi-disciplinary working and an integrated approach.
Ability to carry out assessment and support planning in line with relevant legislation.
You are confident, energetic and enthusiastic as well as sensitive and resilient.
Self-motivating individual with the passion to make a difference in adult social care.
