Summary
Sunderland City Council is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Regulatory Compliance Officer to work in the Licensing Section of Public Protection and Regulatory Services to assist in the promotion and safeguarding of public safety through the operation of an effective and efficient licensing and regulatory regime.
The successful applicant will carry out enforcement duties relating to various licensing legislation, including alcohol, gambling, taxis and scrap metal dealers to ensure that businesses comply with relevant legislation and licence conditions.andnbsp;
The role also includes some processing of applications, issuing licences and permissions and the preparation of reports.andnbsp;
The work involves statutory timescales and tight deadlines and therefore requires an ability to work under pressure.
The post holder will have effective communication skills and be able to provide advice, guidance and engagement with businesses, trade representatives, licence holders and applicants, along with other partner agencies involved in the regulation of licensable activities.
