(£11,946 - £12,989 pro rata)

18 hours 30 minutes per week

The Bereavement Services Team are looking for an organised person to support them in providing a sensitive, compassionate and efficient burial, cremation and memorial service.

Based at Rainsbrook Crematorium in Rugby, and reporting to the Bereavement Services Manager you will be receiving and dealing with enquiries from the public and liaising with funeral directors and clergy in person, by phone, letter, email and in person.  We also meet families to return cremated remains, scatter ashes within our Gardens of Remembrance and provide details of our memorials here at Rainsbrook and within our cemeteries. This is a busy fast paced environment, which requires good time keeping and being able to meet strict deadlines.

You should have proven experience in an administrative capacity. Experience in a related environment linked to bereavement or a care-based industry would be an advantage but not essential. You will be competent with the use of computers and managing computerised systems. You should have a good eye for detail, be able to maintain good relationships at all levels and can prioritise work with minimal supervision.

The successful applicant will be motivated to play their part in excellent service, together with the ability to demonstrate commitment to the authority’s Corporate Values Framework and CANDO ways of working.

Dealing with the bereaved in often stressful circumstances means it is essential that the ideal candidate will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people.
Please note that due this being part of a front facing service there are no options for home working.
