This is a Hybrid Working role with a requirement to attend our London Farringdon office two to three days per week, with flexibility required in line with business needs.

Reporting into the Head of Product Specification Design, the Product Specification Design Manager is responsible for managing the product design activities for amendments to existing and creation of new commercial products.


In this role you will –
• Support Senior Product Specification Design Managers within the product landscape with design activities and will include:
• Subject matter expertise to define end user business specifications for new products and services
• Subject matter expert for specifying the business services when existing solutions are to be replaced or new service offerings are to be introduced
• Development of new service offerings
• Subject matter expert in defining customer and commercial internal/external specifications
• Define and analyse the detailed customer and commercial functional areas impacted by products
• Identify the potential business opportunity/costs, and deliver future state documentation, assumptions. role impact reviews, etc.
• Work with business teams to ensure a structured approach to deliver product improvements and ensure a robust set of specification designs are available for each product development

Key skills
• Experience of operating at a senior level in strategic business management
• Strong analysis and numeracy skills to critique options and determine best course of action
• Awareness of international innovations in the mail industry and network of benchmark contacts
• Excellent stakeholder management and proven ability to build strong positive and collaborative working relationships

Experience
• Extensive relevant industry experience and knowledge of mail operations (or similar dispersed organization; manufacturing / network / utility / logistics)
• Proven experience of managing end-to-end Royal Mail and / or similarly complex logistics detailed designs
