An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Depute Head Teacher Balgreen Primary School. This post is part of a four-person Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and we are looking to recruit a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic leader.

The successful candidate should have a strong knowledge of the curriculum, be an excellent practitioner have a proven track record of providing high quality learning and teaching, building relationships, leading school improvement, managing teams, creating nurturing environments that promotes learning and raising attainment and be an inspiration to pupils to achieve their full potential.

The candidate should also have relevant experience of building nurturing and supportive relationships with pupils, leading initiatives, supporting colleagues and collaborative working.

The candidate should have experience in collaborating with professionals through the Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach to ensure that the needs of every child are met with pupil wellbeing at the heart.

You will play a key role in the school leadership team and responsibilities will include school improvement plan, curriculum development, policy development and promoting leadership at all levels.

The school is led by a management team consisting of a Head Teacher, a Depute Head Teacher and a Business Manager. There are fourteen classes led by a mix full time and part time class teachers and two Support for Learning Teachers. Management and teachers are all ably supported by a team of Pupil Support Assistants, a Nurture Pupil Support Officer, a part time School Administrator and a clerical assistant and a Facilities Technician.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
