Summary


Post title: Postgraduate Lead Medical and Dental Education

Band: 8A

Based: Trust Wide – Primarily based at the Royal London Hospital Education Academy but travel to other sites required.



The Barts Health Education Academy is looking for a committed individual to join the Medical Education Team working as Postgraduate Lead for Medical and Dental Education.

The Medical Education team work closely with the Trust Deans, Directors of Medical Education, Associate Deans and other members of the faculty to deliver Undergraduate & Postgraduate medical and dental education across the Barts Health hospitals, ensuring educational contracts are delivered and the required standards are met.



The Medical Education team provides a cohesive trust-wide service whilst retaining site-based support across all Barts Health sites. The team will be expected to work collaboratively and pool resources and skills to ensure good practice and knowledge are shared, as required.



The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and quality assurance of postgraduate medical and dental, education and training across the Trust in accordance with the NHS Education Contract with NHS England. This includes 1,100 placements for postgraduate medical and dental doctors in training. The post holder is required to meet regulatory compliance and Trust standards in ensuring the effective delivery, evaluation and quality assurance of a portfolio of high quality medical and dental education and training for our doctors and dentists in training.
