We are looking for a conscientious individual to join our internal inspection team.
This role needs someone who really does have an eye for detail, and understands the extremely high standard our products must be held to.
The role involves a pre-plating visual quality inspection of our products to ensure they meet with our exacting standards and identify any defects, followed then by loading products to jigs ready for plating.

Working in Stourbridge, West Midlands, the hours of work are 7am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7am-11am Friday with overtime opportunities available.

Day to day tasks on the job role;
As part of the finishing process the purpose of this role is to inspect polished/sateened work to identify any defects before it is moved on to the next stage of production. Once polished/sateened work is satisfactory depending on the next stage this material may need to be wrapped for outside finishing, jigged ready for electroplating, or simply moved on to the assembly stage of production.

Once finished the work will require another inspection to ensure no faults have developed or have been put through the plating/finishing process by mistake.


Main Responsibilities:

• Carrying out the inspection of work chronologically as dictated by the Apex Production System (APS) or on instruction by the Plating Manager (to ensure efficiency through the plating plant).
• Review works order to determine the finish required.
• Ensure all the parts necessary to complete the works order are present and correct (size and quantity).
• Review the workpiece taking in to account any A, B or C surfaces identifying any defects (see Supporting Responsibilities below for details on sending work back if a defect is identified).
• If required, jig the work ready for electroplating as and when requested.
• Upon completion of Works Order, record the operation as being completed on APS and move the work to the next location as identified on the Works Order.
• Review any lates in the department and liaise with the Manufacturing Manager the issues and resolutions (material shortage, overtime requirements, etc)

Supporting Responsibilities:

• Using the ‘Send Work Back’ function on the APS, be proactive in the identification of issues in work and liaising with team members corrective actions to reduce the chance of repeat issues.
• Regular cleaning of electroplating jigs is required to ensure good electroplating is carried out.
• Helping when required with any maintenance on the plating line.
• Carry out any touch ups to work within reason and capability.

Requirements:
• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent qualifications or experience.
• Previously worked within an Inspection Environment is desirable
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic IT skills, ability to use in-house software.
