At Job & Talent, we are recruiting for a permanent Food Manufacturing Machine Operator to work with one of our clients. They are the world's leader and largest baking company and a relevant participant in snacks. The company, makes Bagels which are one of the fastest growing bakery products and sandwich carriers on UK menus.
*To be successful in this role, you must have at least 6 months of food production experience.
Shift Patterns:
- Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern which consists of 2 x 12-hour days followed by 2 x 12-hour nights.
Pay Rates
- First 2 weeks site induction- £11.60 per hour
- Weeks 2-12 training - £12.04 per hour
- Successful probation after 12 weeks £ 12.32 per hour
- £1 extra for all hours worked between 18:00 - 06:00
- Overtime x 1.25 for hours worked above contract
Job Description:
You will be responsible for ensuring that packs of bagels are correctly placed into cases by the machine. Ensuring packs of product are grouped together according to box size format and securely placed into the case making adjustments to the machine settings to accommodate different pack sizes and case dimensions, conducting regular checks to verify that the bagels are packed correctly without any damage. In case of any discrepancies, they promptly adjust the machine parameters or perform basic troubleshooting to rectify the issue. Ensuring the quality of the packaged bagels are ready for distribution.
Role of a Food Manufacturing Machine Operator:
- Ensure all health and safety standards are maintained.
- Understands the production run plans and all corresponding paperwork.
- Operates equipment in a safe and effective manner following written and verbal instructions to minimize the risk of injury, damage, or loss.
- Able to operate the pallet machine.
- Completes paperwork checks on time and in full, with appropriate actions carried out and recorded.
- Upholds traceability requirements.
- Maintains GMP and housekeeping standards to be audit ready. Demonstrating alignment and required housekeeping for allergen control and CCP's and can explain them.
- Understands all the safety and food safety processes for the area in which they work and can explain them.
- Routinely demonstrates understanding and application of Bakery Packing processes.
- Accurately completes any required checks or monitoring, completing paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
- Understands and can explain the reporting procedure for any equipment errors or faults that occur in their work area, reporting any issues or faults to the Area Line Leader.
- Always complies with company policies, procedures, and processes.
Key Requirements:
- Manual Handling trained.
- Trained against all relevant SOPs and work instructions.
- COSHH trained.
- Allergen trained.
- Good communication skills
