At Job & Talent, we are recruiting for a permanent Food Manufacturing Operator to work with one of our clients. They are the world's leader and largest baking company and a relevant participant in snacks. The company, makes Bagels which are one of the fastest growing bakery products and sandwich carriers on UK menus.
*To be successful in this role, you must have at least 6 months food production experience and have some machine operating experience
Shift Patterns:
- Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern which consists of 2 x 12-hour days followed by 2 x 12-hour nights.
Pay Rates
- First 2 weeks site induction- £11.60 per hour
- Weeks 2-12 training - £12.64 per hour
- Successful probation after 12 weeks £ 13.25 per hour
- £1 extra for all hours worked between 18:00 - 06:00
- Overtime x 1.25 for hours worked above contract
Job Description:
You will be sieving and decanting ingredients ensuring that the correct ingredients are ready for use at the time required by the production plan, following processes and recipes specified by NYB. Completing manual paperwork accurately and legibly when the traceability system is not in use. Safely and correctly handling Ingredients following FIFO stock management control.
Reporting to the Manhattan Production Area Line Leader, this role covers the following:
Role of a Food Manufacturing Operator:
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained. It is especially important that associates working in the Marco area are always wearing correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) /RPE and where this is not the case, corrective action is taken, immediately.
- Manage production activity in such a way that ensures quality targets are met through effective use of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Safety start-up sheets are fully completed, with appropriate actions carried out and recorded.
- Ensure accurate Marco details are recorded correctly and have a full understanding of any incorrect data and the reasons for it.
- Ensure traceability control using the Marco system, using the correct batches and stock rotation - first in/first out.
- All C.C.P checks and paperwork requirements are carried out on time and in full, with appropriate actions completed and recorded.
- Support New Product trial processes and site visits, as appropriate.
- As appropriate, liaise with Engineering to ensure appropriate response and on-going maintenance.
- GMP and housekeeping standards are maintained, and the area is always audit ready.
- Promptly report any plant or equipment issues to the production area line leader as well as key points of contact on the next incoming shift.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and processes.
- Complete any ad hoc requests from either the Shift manager or other functional leads.
Key Requirements:
- Manual Handling trained.
- COSHH trained.
- Fully lock off trained.
- Be trained against all relevant SOPs and work instructions.
- Be allergen trained.
About You
- Have good communication skills.
- Have a good standard of verbal and written English required to meet site safety rules and enable the Associate to fully understand and pass mandatory training.
- Can routinely follow instructions.
- Flexible to vary tasks undertaken and can complete repetitive tasks diligently and quickly.
- Be able to demonstrate good team working and behaviours in line with the GB Beliefs.
- Can work independently, when required.
- Has good attendance and is punctual, arriving in work area on time.
- Complies with break allocation, schedules, and cover.
- Understands all the safety and food safety processes for the area in which they work and can fully explain them.
- Operates equipment in a safe and effective manner following written and verbal instructions to minimize the risk of injury, damage, or loss.
