About the Trust The Royal Devon was formed in April 2022 following the integration of two former organisations the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. A strategy has been developed for the new Trust which involves close collaboration with partners across the Devon integrated care system. This will better enable the Trust to address challenges sustainably, so the Trust can transform the way it delivers care across the whole county, improving patient care. The Trust hospitals are both renowned for their research, innovation and links to universities. This is an exciting time to be joining the Trust; there is a balanced financial plan in place, the team has worked tirelessly to place us within the top ten for the reduction of waiting lists, and our ED is the ninth most improved in the country. About the Role in brief Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Trust Director of Operations (Eastern Services and Trust-wide Care Groups) holds accountability for all Eastern services operational delivery, including the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital site and a Trustwide operational portfolio of Care Groups. The role provides line management and leadership to Care Group Directors within the portfolio, taking decisive managerial action to meet operational service objectives and national targets. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the Trusts Financial and Operational Plan, alongside the organisations Clinical Strategy and other enabling strategies. The Director of Operations works closely with the Executive team and within a Trust Director Triumvirate, ensuring cohesive and effective leadership.
