Summary
· The role is for a specialised physiologist to support the private patient unit based at Royal Free Hospital on a part time basis (22.5 hours per week across 5 days).
· You will be expected to work independently, demonstrating expertise in a physiologist’s role in a range of investigations carried out by the CIU. You will demonstrate a high standards of skills in diagnostic testing, interpretation, reporting and treatment in order to achieve best quality patient care.
· Take a lead role in the routine administration and organisation of the department, provide support and carry out organisational and supervisory duties
· Take a lead role in the maintenance of standards and quality in service development CIU team including active involvement in the training of junior staff, whist maintaining and developing your own professionalism and expert skills and knowledge.
· Participate in the on call rota covering both primary PCI and CRM services.
· You will be required to manage rhythm clinics, and manage remote monitoring for cardiac device patients.
• Demonstrate expertise in the performance of a range of specialist investigations carried out in the Private Patients CIU.
• Interpret technical information & data from investigations and prepare reports
• Recognise the significance of investigation findings/diagnoses and act on these accordingly.
• Be trained and accredited under the auspices of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and to partake in providing basic life support and defibrillation as and when necessary.
• Demonstrate a professional approach to patient care, and be able to communicate with patients clearly.
• Effectively communicate within the department and other departments throughout the Trust
• Take a lead role in the delivery of the cath lab and CRM services, ensuring that the service model provides demonstrably high quality patient care within financial and clinical targets.
