UCLH has an exciting opportunity within its Sustainability Team to play a leading role in supporting the delivery of critical projects related to the Trust’s sustainability agenda.

The NHS makes up 5% of the UK emissions footprint and is now the first health service in the world with a net zero carbon target by 2040 & 80% carbon emission reduction by 2028-32.

UCLH is well placed to provide leadership to this agenda and the strategic development of the sustainability agenda is a priority for the Trust in the coming years.

We have published our net zero strategy Critical Care For Our Climate setting out our ambitious targets for a net zero UCLH.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of UCLH and support the Executive Board in delivering its sustainability vision for a world class hospital.

This role will:
• Work closely and collaboratively with Sustainability Project Managers, the Head of Sustainability Programme, Director of Innovation, Director of Estates and Facilities, Clinical Leaders and other senior UCLH leadership, and sustainability colleagues to deliver a comprehensive programme of change to achieve our net zero goals.
• To lead on governance and administration support across the programme, Sustainability Champion’s Network and to support Project Managers on a number of operationally critical projects related to sustainability transformation.
• There will be a particular focus on data collection, reporting and analysis of our Carbon Footprint.
• The role will support identifying and delivery of Cost Improvement Projects across the programme.
• The role will oversee the education and engagement of our staff through the Sustainability Champion’s Network
We are looking for a dynamic individual who has a passion for sustainability and excellence in NHS services alongside outstanding administrative skills

The post is being offered as a fixed term contract initially. Extension will be dependent on business case as the programme evolves. Applicants from a clinical background are encouraged to apply.
Secondments are welcome, as well as options to work part time alongside a clinical role.
Ideally the successful applicant can start as soon as possible.
