The Mental Health team in the South West region work across the 7 Integrated Care Systems to support delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan mental health priority programmes including Adult Mental Health & community transformation, Dementia, Children & Young People, and Talking Therapies.

The Mental Health Delivery Manager for the Mental Health workstream will support delivery of programme specific improvement and operational support to all systems to ensure delivery of nationally and locally driven mental health transformation programmes across mental health services.

They will hold effective working relationships with other directorates within NHS England to ensure matrix working. The post holder will also need to develop robust and sustainable working relationships with multiple external stakeholders across the Region and ICSs including commissioners, health and social care providers, public health, voluntary sector, Health Education England, Academic Health Science Networks, patients, carers and the public.

The post holder will demonstrate a combination of clinical operational delivery skills, programme and project management skills, business management expertise, and relationship management that will support and sustain a highly effective mental health team. Duties of the role include:
• Delivery and project management
• Communications and stakeholder engagement
• Stakeholder management
• Change management and improvement science
• Service and pathway redesign
• Mental health commissioning/provider/clinical experti

The post holder will be an experienced line manager who has previously led the successful delivery of Team objectives.

The post holder will be responsible for a specific programme(s) of work within the mental health workstream, ensuring effective management and leadership of improvements to enhance the quality of services and patient outcomes.

The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop strong service delivery.

You will be able to successfully implement improvement activities, be confident in delivering transformational change across whole system pathways, have an excellent understanding of Mental Health and the clinical operational experience to deliver these. You will be skilled in translating policy into delivery and keen to build and grow.
