Summary
Our Cleaning Operatives play a vital role in ensuring our venues are clean, tidy and safe to use for all of our colleagues, members, customers and visitors.
We are looking for additional team members to join us on a Casual basis, to pick up shifts during busy periods and absence cover, with availability to cover at our sites in Newport International Sports Village - the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales and the Regional Pool & Tennis Centre.
There will also be availability to pick up shifts at Station Gym and the Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre (both in Newport City Centre).
Previous cleaning experience is preferable, but full training will be provided.
Main responsibilities include:
- Working to a cleaning schedule in accordance with operating procedures to clean all venue areas to a high standard
- Immediately report any defects or issues in the venue or with the equipment to the Cleaning Supervisor or Leisure Operations Officer / appropriate Duty Manager
- Observe all regulations related to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).
- Undergoing all relevant and required training
Our venues rely on the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene, so taking pride in your work is a must.
This can be a demanding, physical role, and can be challenging during busy periods.
Hours: this is a casual position where available shifts will be published as and when they become available (and occasionally at short notice). Our operational hours cover early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends, so you can choose to accept available shifts around your family or other work commitments.
Pay: Real Living Wage (£12 per hour)
