NEW BEGINNINGS ARE ON THE HORIZON AT EREWASH MUSEUM

Following a service review, new beginnings are on the horizon at Erewash Museum. The Council’s Wellbeing and Culture Service has an exciting new opportunity for a highly skilled individual to work within their Culture and Heritage Team based at the award-winning Erewash Museum.

The Opportunity:
The newly formed Wellbeing and Culture Service will support delivery of the council’s corporate ambitions relating to culture, heritage, arts, health and wellbeing and the council is looking for an individual who can support in delivering these ambitions.

We are looking for an individual who is a team player but is also able to deliver high quality work on their own. Exciting times await Erewash Museum and the Wellbeing and Culture Service, and this opportunity is ideal for someone seeking a new challenge or looking to take the next step in their career.

About You:
The council are looking for an experienced individual within the Museum and Heritage Sector with sound knowledge of standards for collections care, management and conservation so a degree in a relevant field or industry-based collections experience is required. The council’s ambition for their Wellbeing and Culture Service is to provide opportunities for residents relating to culture, arts and heritage whilst improving their health and wellbeing and having fulfilling experiences through its key asset at Erewash Museum, therefore experience of working on collections management within a museum environment is essential.

Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the exhibitions at Erewash Museum alongside other staff, whilst ensuring there is effective documentation and management of the collection, so a flexible working approach is essential. There will be a requirement to work Saturdays on rotation and supervise casual Cultural and Heritage Assistants so supervisory experience is desirable.

Please note this post requires the successful candidate to undertake a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
