Due to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking for a Programme Lead. Your new role
As a Programme Lead, you will report to the Head of Service for Cultural Development & Tourism, which is intended to bring both capacity and specialist knowledge to drive the commercial benefit and economic impact of the film, music, e-gaming and tourism sectors in the city. The role will focus on the immediate commercial requirements of the film service as well as the transformational change needed in the next 2 years. The role will directly manage the 2 staff (film & tourism) but will undertake a review of options for developing the film service offered by the city. The role will specifically lead on projects regarding music, e-gaming and other creative industries, evidencing the opportunities and direct and indirect benefits to the city. You will also be responsible for:
- Implementing measures to ensure the Film Service delivers on its budget in 2024/25 and in future years
- Undertaking a review of the Film Service and developing a business case for the function that will enable Birmingham to maximise the impact of the growing film/TV sector
- Work with partners (including the WMCA) to maximise the investment coming into the city for creative industries
- Reviewing funding streams and commercial opportunities

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing this role, you should have experience as a project and/or programme lead, have strong organisational and negotiation skills, and fantastic communication and relationship building.
The following attributes/experience will also be very advantageous: film/TV or creative industries, commercial acumen, and experience of funding opportunities.
