Summary


This is a senior Ophthalmic technician role. A Band 3 is responsible for a busy clinical area and making sure the clinic runs smoothly and effectively. We are looking for someone who has all ophthalmic technician skills and also role models the trust values in their everyday working.

You should be able to test vision, IOP OCT VF etc

This role will work at GSTT, Artesian and Minnie Kidd centres

We are looking for experienced Ophthalmic technicians run to ophthalmic clinics. This is a full time Band 3 Job which involves mentoring new staff within the ophthalmic technician team and help provide a comprehensive high quality excellent ophthalmic service at GSTT and Minnie Kidd Centre.

This will involve being part of the Eye Care Team, a multidisciplinary team, testing vision, visual fields and using equipment such as autorefractors and ophthalmic imaging devices: OCT, Pentacam scanning etc.

Guy's and St Thomas' is a Major London Hospital and tertiary referral center. It has a busy Ophthalmic department for both pediatrics and adults.

Guys and St Thomas’ is one of the largest ophthalmology departments in the country.

This role is an exciting opportunity to work in a major London teaching hospital as an ophthalmic technician. This essential role tests Vision, assess intra-ocular pressure, visual fields and scans such corneal tomography, OPTOS and OCT prior to the ophthalmologist assessment of the patient. This role ensures the smooth running of the ophthalmology clinics. Ophthalmic technicians also ensure that each clinic is well stock and tidy. As a band 3 you would be expected to lead a small team and be in charge of a clinical area.

This is a Band 3 Ophthalmic technician post, so mentoring the Band 2s and being a team leader for a clinical area is expected with knowledge of vision, IOP, i-care measurement, corneal scanning, OCT, imaging etc.
