Summary
This fantastic school specializes in supporting children and young people (Key Stage 3 & 4) with Autism, Learning Difficulties, Social/Emotional/Mental Health issues, Communication challenges, PTSD, Anxiety, and additional needs.
Position Details:
- Class Size: 6-10 students
- Curriculum: National average (adjusted for individual learning levels)
- Contract: Permanent
- Start Date: Immediate (following successful interview/trial)
- Daily Rate: Paid to scale M1-UPS3
- Location: Maida Vale, Northwest London (NW8)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with secondary age students (Key Stage 3 & 4)
- Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons
- Experience teaching and/or working with students with Special Education & Mental Health Needs
- Thorough knowledge of the relevant curriculum areas up to KS4 and the ability to prepare pupils for public examinations
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents, and students
Role Responsibilities:
- Teaching KS3 and KS4 Science (ideally Physics, Chemistry, and/or Biology up to GCSE level)
- Teaching to a class with varied learning levels and needs
- Collaborating closely with students, their parents/careers, and other staff members to ensure students are happy and learning well
- Regularly tracking student progress
- Adapting the syllabus according to individual students' EHCPs
- Implementing and delivering a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum
- Utilizing a range of monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate pupils' progress
- Improving long-term outcomes for students
Qualifications:
- QTS or equivalent and experience of working in UK schools (Unqualified Teachers with relevant subject experience will also be considered)
- Valid and Enhanced Child or Child and Adult DBS check registered on the update service (or willing to process a new one)
TO BE ELIGABLE TO WORK WITH PROSPERO TEACHING YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide professional related references
