Summary

We are now recruiting for a Central Repair Centre Technician - Swindon (SN3 5TG)

Salary: £51,051 per annum, 22.5 days annual leave with bank holidays and a defined contribution pension scheme.

The Role

Full time 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday 07:30 to 16:00, overtime working may also be required

Reporting to the PETRA Team Leader, you will be responsible for performing corrective/preventive maintenance tasks within Central Engineerings Mini Mail Centre and supporting the lifecycle of engineering spares within Royal Mail.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Perform day-to-day delivery of maintenance tasks on automation machinery, specifically preventative/predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance and conduct performance improvement initiatives.
  • Perform electronic/electrical/mechanical repairs on automation assets down to component level and improve the reliability of automation assets by a process of continuous improvement.
  • Provide effective and efficient support to the National Engineering Spares Manager and PETRA Team Leader, including input into root cause analysis, fault logging, data entry and the lifecycle and cost reduction of engineering spares within Royal Mail.
  • Monitor and review day-to-day equipment performance and support the Central Engineering Team in the availability of automation assets within the Mini Mail Centre
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team to achieve common goals

About you

As an experienced multi-skilled engineer you’ll be qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent). Understanding Health & Safety legislation, you’ll have first-hand experience of maintaining automation equipment, along with a flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively.

You are required to have a full UK driving licence as on occasion you may be asked to travel to other sites.
