Summary
Key job element
• Advise budget holders and service delivery staff on financial matters, including purchase order to payment system support
• Provide training and guidance in the use of corporate finance systems
• Assist in the maintenance and development of accountancy and costing records and systems in accordance with professional standards and regulations and ensuring quality is maintained; including the preparation of final, trading, contracts, and management accounts.
• Assist in the monitoring of the suspense (or equivalent) accounts and the production of statistical and management information and the completion of returns and claims and the preparation of the closedown for final accounts
• Input financial data and the use of/assistance in the development of purchase to payment systems
• Assist in the creditor payment process, verifying and approve purchase order to payment system requisitions/orders, processing pay bills, internal charges and supplier queries
• Account for, reconcile and ensure security of all monies in accordance with financial regulations and administer process.
• Support and assist the procurement process including sourcing goods and services, raising requisitions and updating/reporting against the contract database and e-tendering system and direct communication with suppliers.
• Supports the administration of salary sacrifice schemes
Person specification:
• Educated to GCSE level with minimum 4 grade C passes or equivalent level of competence; including Maths and English
• Practical knowledge and experience of financial/office based systems/software; including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Strong numeracy skills
• Experience prioritising a range of tasks
• Competent in keyboarding skills and data inputting
• Ability to interpret information and solve problems
• Self-motivated, customer orientated and enthusiastic with good communication skills
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Pay rate: £13.92 per/hr
