Summary


We are delighted to be able to offer a number of clerk/receptionist roles within Cardiothoracic Services at both the Freeman Hospital and Royal Victoria Infirmary. These roles are crucial to providing an efficient and effective service to our patients across our Echo, ECG, Pacing and Lung Function Departments.

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who can demonstrate a high standard of customer care, administrative skill and are strong team players.

If successful, you will be responsible for liaising with clinical and non-clinical professional staff for the delivery of a high standard of care. The role will directly impact the patient experience and will be part of providing their delivery of care. You will need to be able to think independently and be empathetic. You may be required to work across both sites as part of the role.

The successful candidates will work as part of a team to provide a friendly and efficient reception service to patients coming into the hospital, putting the patient at the heart of everything you do. You will be required to demonstrate a high level of customer service skills when dealing with potentially distressing situations. You will use the Patient Administration System for booking, cancelling and rescheduling appointments either face to face or telephone, assisting with patient queries which can sometimes be of a complex nature, participating in departmental audits and reports and prioritising their own workload under the supervision of the Reception Team Lead. Good organisational and time management skills are a must.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for general admin tasks including processing referrals, filing, posting, attending meetings, and completing mandatory training.

Positions available include full-time, part-time, permanent and fixed-term.
