Summary

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join us as ScotGEM Year 4 Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic medical educator to be part of our young and innovative graduate entry medicine course as we celebrate its success and plan its future. ScotGEM is a 4-Year course led by Dundee and St Andrews Universities, in partnership with NHS Tayside, Fife, Highland, and Dumfries & Galloway, with the University of the Highlands and Islands. The first cohort of students matriculated in 2018 and graduated in 2022. Both the University of Dundee and St Andrews enjoy an international reputation for excellence that attracts top-class students and academics from across the world and both institutions hold a gold Teaching Excellence award. Ninewells Hospital and Medical School provides outstanding opportunities in medical education and training, consistently ranked amongst the top medical schools in the UK Based in the School of Medicine on the Ninewells Campus Dundee, this post is for 2 sessions per week with the salary commensurate with NHS grade and salary point. Under the direction of the ScotGEM Year 3 and 4 Lead, and in conjunction with the Dundee MBChB team, you will be responsible for providing Year 4 leadership and development across all ScotGEM settings. Your priorities will include: * Enthusiastic leadership for the ScotGEM rural generalist focused mission * Working with the ScotGEM leadership team to support and develop the programme including involvement with student selection, assessment, staff development and research * Working with all stakeholders to ensure that the programme is of high quality and is delivered effectively, with the necessary capacity, across all settings. Who we're looking for: * An experienced clinical medical educator to be based at the University of Dundee. * An enthusiastic advocate for the ScotGEM rural generalist mission. * A highly effective, collaborative worker with excellent communication skills * Ongoing clinical commitment (contracted separately,support available to arrange if required).
