Summary

Please note: Priority may be given to internal applicants.

The Victoria Theatre is one of Yorkshire’s premier arts venues and sits within Public Services of Calderdale Council. The theatre hosts a varied arts and entertainment programme from comedy to music and theatre. It also hosts local Amateur Dramatic Society’s and Community groups.

We are looking to recruit a Casual Bar Supervisor to work on a casual basis to cover evening, weekends and occasionally day-time shifts on a rota basis, as dictated by the performances taking place at the theatre. The role involves motivating and leading the bar team to produce quality level customer service and fast paced drinks service within allocated time frames, overseeing department cleanliness and basic health and safety, ensuring appropriate legislation and relevant financial procedures are adhered to, and reporting relevant stock and product information to the Bars and Catering Manager.

The successful candidates will have experience in leading and supervising a team, excellent customer service, sales and communication skills, be numerate, and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. A polite and friendly disposition, and a commitment to high standards with the ability to work unsociable hours, sometimes at short notice is required. Previous experience in a hospitality environment as well as cash handling and health and safety is desirable.

Candidates must be able to move between different levels of the venue using stairs.
